MSME Business Ideas: MSME stands for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises. MSME industries are the backbone of the economy in a developing country like India. Earlier the existing MSME classification was based on the criteria of investment in plant and machinery or equipment. Therefore, to enjoy the MSME benefits, the MSMEs have to limit their investment to a lower limit, as mentioned below:

These lower limits were killing the urge to grow as they were unable to scale their businesses further. Also, revision of MSME classification was a long pending demand so that they can further expand their operations while availing MSME benefits.
Now, under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan (ABA), the government revised the MSME classification by including composite criteria of both investment and annual turnover. Also, the distinction between the manufacturing and service sector was removed under the definition of MSME. Following is the current revised MSME classification, where investment and annual turnover are to be considered for deciding the MSME.

MSME Registration Fee
Enterprises having UAM registration need to migrate to Udyam registration by 30/06/2022. If the entrepreneurs having UAM registration do not migrate to Udyam Registration by 30/06/2022, then the UAM registration is invalid and they will not be able to avail of the benefits provided to MSMEs. They have to re-register themselves for Udyam Registration to get MSME benefits.

MSME Registration Certificate
After the online submission of the MSME Registration Form, a message of successful registration will appear along with the reference number. The Ministry of MSME will issue the Udyam Registration Certificate or MSME Certificate to the email ID of the entrepreneur after verification of the registration form submitted on the portal.
The ministry will issue the MSME certificate after a few days of submission of the registration form. The validity of the MSME Registration Certificate is for a lifetime. Thus, it does not require any renewal.

- Name of entrepreneur as per Aadhar card

- Name of Enterprise
- Location of plant/unit
- Office address of the Enterprise
- Date of commencement of business or incorporation or registration of enterprise
- Bank account number and IFSC code
- Business Activity of an Enterprise
- NIC code of the Primary Activity

How to get MSME Certificate Online?
To get the MSME certificate online, the entrepreneur has to visit the Udyam Registration Portal and download the MSME certificate online. The process to obtain an MSME registration certificate online is as follows:
- On the homepage of the portal, entrepreneurs will have to click on the ‘Print/Verify’ tab and click on the ‘Print Udyam Certificate’ option.
- The next page will open where entrepreneurs need to enter the Udyam Registration Number, and Mobile Number, select the OTP option, and click on the ‘Validate and Generate OTP’ button.
- Enter OTP received on your mobile number or email ID and click on the ‘Validate OTP & Print’ button.
- MSME Registration Certificate will appear and you can print MSME Registration Certificate from the page. An entrepreneur can check the MSME registration number by the reference number given after the submission of the MSME registration form.
To get the MSME registration number, an entrepreneur needs to click on the option ‘Verify Udyam Registration Number’ under the ‘Print/Verify’ tab on the homepage. A new page will open and entrepreneurs need to enter the reference number, and captcha code and click on the ‘Verify’ button. The details of the MSME along with the MSME Registration Number will appear on the screen.

MSME प्रमाणपत्र ऑनलाइन कैसे प्राप्त करें?
सर्टिफिकेट ऑनलाइन प्राप्त करने के लिए उद्यमी को उद्यम रजिस्ट्रेशन पोर्टल पर जाकर एमएसएमई सर्टिफिकेट ऑनलाइन डाउनलोड करना होगा। एमएसएमई पंजीकरण प्रमाणपत्र ऑनलाइन प्राप्त करने की प्रक्रिया इस प्रकार है:
- पोर्टल के होमपेज पर उद्यमियों को ‘प्रिंट/वेरीफाई’ टैब पर क्लिक कर ‘प्रिंट उद्यम सर्टिफिकेट’ विकल्प पर क्लिक करना होगा।
- अगला पेज खुलेगा जहां उद्यमियों को उद्यम पंजीकरण संख्या, और मोबाइल नंबर दर्ज करने की आवश्यकता है, ओटीपी विकल्प का चयन करें, और ‘मान्य करें और ओटीपी उत्पन्न करें’ बटन पर क्लिक करें।
